Robert Daniel David Lecky

Robert was Born 31 8 1823 in Londonderry, Ireland to Holland & Diana Lecky. He was the Sixth of Eleven Children all Born in Ireland.

From info received he seemed to have left Ireland about 1842-43 for Australia then landed in Dinapore, India 26th December 1847.Then Transferred to the Darjeeling Railway 21st January 1848.

Robert belonged to the H.M 80th Regiment of Foot South Staffordshire Volunteers when he arrived in India.

He got married 8 November 1856 to Gungo Etwaroo Jugge in Raphopore, India. She was listed as a Widow at the Marriage. He had Two Children by her. They were called Norah C & Bilzoni Stratford. Norah was Born 23rd January 1857 & Bilzoni was Born 5th July 1858.

He Baptised his Children all together 22nd February 1859 in Patna, India.

On the Baptism return he also Baptised Three other kids at the same time who's Mother is only listed as a Native Women. They were Diana, Louisa Victoria & Jane Albertina.

Diana was Born 13th June 1850.Louisa Victoria was Born 4th August 1851 & Jane Albertina was Born 22nd April 1853.

Jane Albertina is where my Wife Sue's Family come in to the equation. She Married Sue's Great Great Grandfather John Vallally 29th March 1869 in Delhi, India.

Robert at the time was an Inspector on the East India Railway.

Unfortunately Gungo Died between 1859 & 1861.Im still unable to find anything regarding her Death or even her Age.

Robert remarried 2nd December 1861 to Elizabeth Rosabelle Frances Vellozo in St.Michaels Chapel, Dinapore, India.

At the time of the Wedding he was back in the 80th Regiment.

Robert Died 23rd December 1877 at Thelum, India & was Buried the very next day (Xmas Eve).

At the time of his Death his Occupation was listed as a Jailor.
